We left this morning for a long bus ride to Siem Reap. The roads were not highways like ours, so the speed limit is 60 km/hr. or about 40 mph. On the way we stopped to see the rubber trees. They tap the trees early in the morning when it is cooler. One tree can give 10 liters of latex per year. There are about 500 trees per hector and they are spread 4 meters apart. The trees produce from 7 – 25 years. Then the trees are cut down and replanted. Cambodia also grow cashews, rice, bananas, tapioca and sweet corn.
We stopped at a restaurant/gas station for lunch. It was right on a lake and was a pretty spot.

Once we made it to the hotel we had a relaxing afternoon and evening at the beautiful pool.
