City Hall & ABBA

City Hall was built from 1921 to 1923. The population had grown so much that they needed more space for their government functions. They built the voting/meeting hall first in 1921. They currently have 101 representatives. In 1970 the country made it so that there would be an even split between men and women. The Nobel Prize reception is on December 17th in the large hall. Every Saturday they schedule 60 weddings in the hall, they last 3 minutes each. Our guide said they are surprisingly nice weddings.

The group ABBA is from Sweden. So many of their songs are etched in our brains from high school years. Just a few pictures from the ABBA museum.

This afternoon we boarded our ship the Viking Jupiter.

A picture of our ship from our hotel, it was just a ferry ride away to get onboard.
