For our first morning on the ship Viking Jupiter, we were up early and out the gangway to kayak. Not exactly in my comfort zone, but an experience to try. After a quick lesson in the proper way to hold an oar and how to get in and out, we were off. Our fearless bohemian leader said, “If you fall out, just swim to shore.” That sure made me feel better. Not! We struggled a bit with direction at first, but then did fine all the way around an island. I can check that off my list. I’m sure Bryan would do it again, but probably with a better kayaking partner.

We ate a late breakfast at former prison on the island that we kayaked around. It is now a hostel and really is a nice place.

They’re changing guard at Sweden’s Royal Palace.

The King was at the palace today, so we were limited on what we could see. The main things were the jewels and the remnants from the fire of 1697.

Beautiful sunset at 11:00. We have had tons of daylight, it is only dark from about 11:30 to 3:30, and by dark I don’t really mean dark dark.
