Cernavoda

Due to winds that might shut down the port at Constanta, our ship decided to pull out last evening and dock at Cernavoda, Romania. It is a small town of around 15,000 and not a tourist attraction. It did not affect those guests that had booked a tour in the wine area and the delta. We had already decided to take the day off and relax.

We did take a walk into the town to look for toothpaste and a heavier coat. It is cooler than anticipated with a high today in the low 50s.

Unlike Istanbul and their abundance of cats, this town has an abundance of dogs. They are friendly and do not bother anyone.

We have been curious about how the Communist apartments work. We were told that the apartment itself is owned by the individual family, but it is clear that they have not been updated. Is that an impossibility because of the individual ownership? Maybe we will find an answer to this at some point.
