A little story to start with about how the Llama got its name. The Cameloids came from North America originally. They moved to Asia through the Bering strait and down to south America through central America. When the Spanish came to south America they spoke Spanish and used the phrase “¿Como se llama?” and somehow it stuck as llama being the name of that cameloid.

This morning we visited “Sexy Woman” or Saqsaywaman. It is just outside of Cusco and has amazing views. Sun festivals are celebrated here annually. Our guide said that when he was a kid they would come here for a pick up soccer game with friends.

When the Spanish came they stripped the gold from the Inkan temples and palaces. They built churches and monasteries. The temple of the sun, Tawantinsuyo was the most important and sacred.

We went to dinner at the Inka Grill with Deb and Phil. Bryan ordered guinea pig and we all tried it. It tasted like gamey beef.
