In 1799 Napoleon’s wife, Josephine purchased a country home in Le Pecq. The Château is currently being painted on the outside, so this is a picture of what it will look like when finished.

Josephine loved flowers and both inside and outside the house were many flowers.

Josephine was married before Napoleon and had two children from that marriage which he adopted. Napoleon desperately wanted an heir and expected this with Josephine, but she never could get pregnant. He truly loved her, but had their marriage annulled and he went off to find a wife that could give him an heir. He still visited her at the Château and it is said that he cried when he had to leave her.
This is our last evening in Paris. Tomorrow we take the Eurorail (Chunnel) to London.
