About 2 hours outside of London is a train station called Morton-in-the-Marsh. It is from there that we were picked up to go to the tiny village of Upper Slaughter and our hotel called Lords of the Manor.
We were too early to get into our room, so we walked to Lower Slaughter, which is the larger of the two villages.

It is only about a 20 minute walk between the two villages. The Upper Slaughter area and the Lower have churches that seem identical. Saint Mary’s, the Lower and Saint Peter’s the Upper. St. Peter’s was originally built in the 12th century, but changes have been made many times over the centuries.

The manor where we are staying the next four nights is too quaint not to see.
