This morning we had an hour drive from Upper Slaughter to Birmingham to fly to Dublin. In our part of the world it would have taken 30 minutes to get there, but with the twisty-turny two lanes here it took double time.
Once in Dublin we walked the terribly busy streets to Trinity College. It began in 1592 with a royal charter by Queen Elizabeth I. Today it is called the University of Dublin, but has always had ties to Oxford and Cambridge.

Just about 20 minutes from the college is St. Patrick’s Cathedral. It was built from 1220-1259 on the site of a well that St. Patrick used to baptize early christians. The windows are all very different and from different periods in history. The church has been Anglican since the English reformation in the 1500s.
