Bahia Palace
The Bahia Palace was built for the guardian of the new 16 year old ruler of Morocco. The palace was completed in 1900, but the guardian died before he moved in.
The palace is known for its painted ceilings and simple tiled flooring.
Strolling the Medina
Jadin Majorelle
The home and botanical gardens were created by the French Orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle over almost forty years, starting in 1923, and features a Cubist villa designed by a French architect. He and Yves Saint Laurent were life partners.
Berber Museum
We visited the museum and saw tools, jewelry, clothing and guns used by the Berber people. No pictures were allowed unfortunately.
Markets
The markets, much like the grand markets in Turkey, have a frenzy of activity, topped off with the fear of being ran over by motorcycles. In the evening, we walked back through the food area and saw many families eating dinner. They set up these food booths every evening and take them down late at night.
We ate at an Italian restaurant. It used to be two homes in the Medina.
