There are roads, kind of, but our driver will sometimes just jet off across the dunes or the varnish. The varnish is the black volcanic rock that covers parts of the sand. There are some fossils that can be found around those rocks.
Next we went to the homes of the nomads. They are proud of what they have and offered us some tea. The kids were playing and the little girl was quite curious. She fought with her brother over a toy, just like our grands.
Then we went to a mine for barite that can be used in the computer industry and oil and gas.
Today we walked into an oasis. The dates are ready to be harvested, we just missed seeing them because they pick them in the cool of the morning. The water runs into the oasis from underground and then is directed by people making dirt dams or removing them to change the direction to water their crops.
Instead of going to a restaurant, Rad had them make a lunch for us way out in the desert.
The best of the day for last. Camels!
The camel is the king of the desert.
The date is the bread of the desert.
The Acacia is the umbrella and the heart of the desert.
